The Impact of Cloud: Part Three of Canon Article Series on Information Governance
October 2, 2017
This is the third article I am sharing in a series adapted from the new eBook we recently issued, “Minimize Business Risk: Top 5 Information Governance Obstacles You Must Tackle Now.” The eBook was sponsored by Canon Business Process Services and written by AIIM, the association that provides independent research, education and certification programs to information professionals.
The important point highlighted in this third article, The Impact of Cloud, is that storing data in the cloud plays a role in every organization today, whether you realize it or not and whether it is sanctioned or not. Your information governance program must address use of the cloud as a data repository and as a collaboration tool for sharing information between individuals. It is important to identify who is responsible for maintaining your corporate data stored in the cloud, how it is organized and the approved processes and technology for migrating data.
