Two of our executives will present at the Association of Legal Administrators’ (ALA) 10th Annual Educational Symposium. The event, hosted by the ALA’s New York City chapter, takes place this Thursday, October 15, from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM at Convene, 730 Third Avenue. The program covers a broad spectrum of topics for functional specialists as well as law firm generalists.

Canon Business Process Services' presentation, "Going Electronic While Records Management Evolves towards Information Governance," takes place from 1:30 to 2:30 PM in the Nolita Hub on the 17th floor of the Convene. This session will examine the evolution of records management into information governance and how legal professionals can effectively digitize records, documents and other information assets in order to fully leverage the benefits of this evolution. Key learning objectives for this session include:

  • A clear understanding of the traditional definition of records management
  • A current definition of information governance as "records management plus"
  • How law firms and corporate legal departments can prepare to "go electronic" including the importance of securing senior executive support; budgeting; assessment of the current records program and establishing consistent processes and procedures
  • Key elements to consider when creating or improving a document imaging initiative
